Vol. 404 No. 2

Written Answers. - Entitlement Payment.

William Cotter

Ceist:

73 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Labour if a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will be paid his entitlements under the Protection of Employees (Employers Insolvency) Act, 1984; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A claim in respect of six weeks' minimum notice under the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984, was received in my Department from the liquidator of the company on 27 September 1990 in respect of the person concerned. As the liquidator was unable to certify his PRSI status in accordance with the requirements of section 3 of the Act, his case was referred to scope section, Department of Social Welfare, for examination. When the results of this inquiry are received, the claim under the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984, will be processed.
