Ceist:108 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment the budgetary allowance for the Mullingar by-pass for 1991; and if he expects work to commence on the project this year.

The proposed Mullingar by-pass is scheduled, in the operational programme on peripherality, to commence in 1991. Pending the determination of individual road grant allocations for 1991, it is not possible to say what level of funding will be available for the scheme this year. I expect to be in a position shortly to notify all local authorities of their 1991 road grant allocations.
