Ceist:155 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork who purchased a car on 12 February, 1990, should be forced to accept 1989 number plates.

The assignment of an identification mark, registration number, to a vehicle on registration is a matter for the licensing authority concerned, in this case Cork County Council, and I have no function in the matter.
