Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

74 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a beef subsidy grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Under the terms and conditions of the 1990 special beef premium scheme applicants undertake to keep the relevant animals for a period of two months from the date of application. As the person named sold some of his animals before the two months retention period had elapsed he has been deemed ineligible for grants under that scheme.

He has already been paid his 1990 suckler cow premium scheme grant.

77 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if payments in relation to cattle and sheep premia and grants are liable for tax under the income tax code.
