79 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will include persons in receipt of disabled persons maintenance allowance in the EC beef scheme, with specific reference to the application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1.
The quantity of beef available is strictly limited and thus it has been necessary to identify specific beneficiaries in consultation with the Department of Social Welfare.
The scheme this year is therefore restricted to recipients of long term unemployment assistance, excluding smallholders; recipients of the pre-retirement allowance; recipients of long term supplementary welfare allowance; and FAS trainees who were in receipt of longterm unemployment assistance immediately prior to commencing their FÁS courses.
