Ceist:

206 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí stationed at the following Garda stations (a) Howth, Dublin 13, (b) Raheny, Dublin 5 and (c) Coolock, Dublin 5 over the past three years; and his intentions regarding manning levels in the immediate future.

Patrick McCartan

Ceist:

208 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice the number of female members of the Garda Síochána who have been assigned over the past five years to the following stations, (a) Howth, Dublin 13, (b) Raheny, Dublin 5 and (c) Coolock, Dublin 5; the proposals which exist to increase these numbers in the immediate future; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 206 and 208 together.

The particulars sought in the questions are set out in the following tables. The precise allocation of Garda manpower to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities who inform me that the question of assigning additional gardaí to these stations will be kept under review as additional manpower becomes available. The number of female members at these stations will also be kept under review. I might mention that there are also two female members attached to Clontarf station, which is part of Raheny district and three female members attached to Malahide station, which is part of Coolock district. These members are available throughout the relevant district in cases where the services of a female member are specifically required.
