I met the Irish Haemophilia Society on 9 January 1991 to discuss any proposals they may have to relieve hardship among their numbers affected by the HIV virus. In the course of that meeting I invited them to make a written submission to me in the matter. This submission was received on 22 January 1991. A number of matters arising from the submission require detailed consideration and in view of this I was not in a position to respond by 24 February as requested by the society. I advised the society of this in writing on 15 February and assured them that I was taking all possible steps to ensure a speedy response and that I would be in touch with them in the near future. In expect to be in a position to respond to the society's submission shortly.
