117 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Marine if he will outline the total cost and the nature and level of Exchequer support towards the marina development at Dingle, County Kerry; and the particular schemes and Departments involved.

My Department have on hands an application from the Dingle Skellig Hotel Ltd. for a lease under the Foreshore Act, 1933, to construct a marina and ancillary facilities at Dingle, County Kerry. The application will be the subject of a public inquiry under the Act to commence in Dingle on 10 April next.

The cost of the marina is a matter for the promoters and not for me; in relation to Exchequer support, I understand that the project would qualify for consideration under the operational programme for tourism which is part of the EC Structural Funds initiative. That programme is operated by Bord Fáilte and SFADCo on behalf of the European Commission.
