Ceist:

142 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will outline, in relation to the Shannon Free Zone, for each of the years 1985 to 1989 (1) the amounts allocated in industrial grants for (a) manufacturing industry (b) research and development and (c) service industry (2) the capital expenditure on buildings (3) the amount received in rent and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information requested is essentially a matter for the industrial development agency concerned (SFADCo) who have been given responsibility for the promotion and development of the Shannon Free Zone. Much of the information — including details of grants approved and paid to individual projects on the Zone — is available from the SFADCo annual reports and accounts which are laid before the House of the Oireachtas each year.
