176 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí stationed at the following Garda stations, (a) Shankill, (b) Cabinteely, (c) Deans Grange, (d) Blackrock, (e) Dún Laoghaire and (f) Dalkey for each year since 1987.
The particulars sought in the question are set out in the following table. The precise allocation of Garda manpower to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities and varies from time to time in the light of changing needs and circumstances. The numbers assigned to Dún Laoghaire Garda station, which is the divisional headquarters for the eastern division of the Dublin Metropolitan Area, and to Blackrock station, which is a district headquarters station, include specialist staff and units that operate on a divisional or district basis.
