179 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice whether in respect of the completion of the Internal Market by 1992, he will outline in respect of his Department (1) which directives are his responsibility, (2) the directives which have now been passed, (3) the draft directives which remain outstanding and (4) when these outstanding draft directives will be passed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
No directives relating to the completion of the Internal Market have been passed in my area of responsibility. However, a common position on a Draft Council Directive on Control of the Acquisition and Possession of Weapons was adopted by Council on 4 February 1991. In addition a proposal for a Council Directive on the Protection of Individuals in relation to the Processing of Personal Data is currently being considered by a Council working party. It is not possible to say at this stage when directives on these matters will be passed.
