Bernard Allen

Ceist:

198 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allow an extension to the period which interested groups have to respond to the environmental impact study carried out by Cork Corporation on the Blackpool/Cork road developments which include a proposal for a flyover at Blackpool, in view of the fact that only a month was given for groups, including residents, to respond to the comprehensive report.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 197 and 198 together.

Public notice of the preparation and submission to me of an environmental impact study in respect of the Blackpool by-pass was published by Cork Corporation on 20 February 1991. Under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1990, interested persons may, within a period of one month from the date of the public notice, make submissions or observations to me regarding the effects on the environment of the proposed development. I have no proposals to change this time limit.
