244 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education if she will give details of the total grant aid allocated and the total grant aid paid in the period 1st January, 1987 to 31st December, 1990 in the case of each county in respect of (a) golfing facilities, (b) gymnasiums, (c) swimming pools, (d) athletics tracks and (e) other recreational facilities; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The information in the format requested by the Deputy on the capital programmes operated by my Department would involve an inordinate amount of time and I would not consider it appropriate to divert staff for this purpose from other more urgent work.
I attach, however, a tabular statement giving total expenditure from 1987 to 1990. I would also refer the Deputy to the beneficiary compendium compiled by the national lottery which gives details on a county basis of grant allocations and amounts paid in respect of individual projects for the period 1 January 1988 to 31 December 1989.
