281 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health the number of full-time permanent nursing positions for which interviews are being held at present; the number of district nursing positions vacant at present in the Cashel and Clonmel areas of County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The South Eastern Health Board are at present in the process of filling eight permanent staff nurse posts in St. Patrick's Hospital Cashel. Interviews have not yet taken place for these posts.
There are no public health nurse posts vacant in the south Tipperary area at present.
Under the personnel policy which applies in the health services, it is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board to determine the appropriate staffing level in each of their institutions and other services, within their approved employment ceiling and financial allocation.
