Precise statistics on the lines requested by the Deputy are not available. However, the overall net VAT receipt for the years in question was as follows:

On the basis of sample 1990 figures, it is estimated that the Cork district accounted for about 9 per cent of the gross internal VAT. If this percentage is applied to the above figures, the result may be taken as a broad indicator of the portion of total VAT yield which relates to the Cork area.
