Vol. 408 No. 2

Written Answers - Gaming Arcades.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

98 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if he is concerned that some gaming arcades in Dublin are breaking the law as outlined in a media report (details supplied); whether the gardaí have investigated the detailed allegations; the action he intends to take; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the gardaí monitor amusement halls and video games centres to ensure as far as possible that illegal gaming does not take place and I am assured by them that all allegations of such gaming in the Dublin area, and indeed elsewhere in the country, which are brought to the attention of the gardaí, are investigated thoroughly.
