Vol. 408 No. 4

Written Answers. - Use of Air Horns.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

139 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment whether air horns used by articulated trucks can be operated in built up areas; his views on whether there is a case for restricting the use of such horns; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The use of audible warning devices generally is governed by Article 86 of the Road Traffic (Construction,

Equipment and use of Vehicles) Regulations, 1963. I have no proposals to introduce more specific controls on the use of air horns.
