Ceist:

156 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Health if he has received a document entitled Community Response which is a report of a seminar on drug problems in the south inner city held in Kevin Street College of Technology on 3 November 1990; if in respect of the document's recommendations he will outline the action, if any, he proposes to take; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to reply to Questions Nos 141 and 156 together.

I have received a copy of the document referred to, which I have passed to the National Co-Ordinating Committee on Drug Abuse for their consideration. The Deputy will be aware that the National Co-Ordinating Committee have recently presented me with a report outlining their recommendations for a national strategy to combat drug abuse.

I will shortly be publishing a national strategy to prevent drug misuse which will outline Government policy in this area.
