196 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education whether she has had a report carried out on the conditions of the buildings at Belgrove national school, Clontarf, Dublin 3 with a view to assessing the extent of remedial works necessary; and if she will indicate the scale and timing of remedial works which her Department believes are necessary.
My Department have not received any application from the authorities of St. John the Baptist national school, Belgrove, Clontarf, Dublin 3 for grant-aid in respect of remedial works to the school buildings. Any such application will be fully considered in consultation with my Department's professional staff.
Some difficulties have arisen in respect of the central heating system at the school and my Department's engineers are currently preparing proposals for necessary improvement works. My Department will communicate with the school authorities in this regard at the earliest possible date.
