Ceist:90 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he proposes to give official recognition to the Chartered Association of Commercial Accountants which was officially launched by him some time ago.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to my powers under the Companies Acts, 1963 to 1990, to recognise a body of accountants so that its members might legally practice as company/public auditors. I have not received any application from a body as named by the Deputy for such recognition nor have I launched such a body.
