Vol. 409 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

78 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo can expect to receive his special beef premium payment.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

82 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of a special beef premium and suckler cow grant.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 78 and 82 together.

These payments are being processed and will issue shortly.

John Fahey

Ceist:

79 Mr. J. Fahey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in having an inspection carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who has applied for a farm development scheme grant; and when inspection will take place.

The processing of applications in regard to the scheme of grant-aid for investments in alternative enterprises has been held up due to difficulties in the local farm development offices. It is hoped to have these difficulties resolved shortly following which the applications will be dealt with as quickly as possible.

John Fahey

Ceist:

80 Mr. J. Fahey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a cattle headage grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

Payment to this applicant under the 1990 suckler cow premium scheme has already been made.

He has been deemed ineligible for payment under the 1990 special beef premium scheme as he did not maintain the animals on which he applied for premium for two months as required under the terms and conditions of the scheme.

He is not eligible for grants under the 1990 cattle and equines headage scheme as his lands are not in a disadvantaged area.

Michael Noonan

Ceist:

81 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when he will be in a position to inform applicants for grants for the fencing and housing of greyhounds, of the outcome of their applications; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The processing of applications for the fencing and housing of greyhounds under the scheme of grant-aid for investments in alternative enterprises has been held up due to difficulties in the local farm development offices. It is hoped to have these difficulties resolved shortly following which the applications will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
