131 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction and fund the building of a junior training centre as part of the redevelopment of St. Oliver's Park, Clondalkin site for travellers, during the course of which the chalet, currently being used as the training centre for children in the 12 to 15 year age group will be demolished.
My Department's responsibilities are in relation to the accommodation of travellers and in this context approval has been given to the funding from housing capital of Dublin Corporation's proposals for the redevelopment of the travellers' site at St. Oliver's Park, Clondalkin. I do not propose to approve the use of housing capital for the provision of the junior training centre as it is separate and distinct from the accommodation being provided.
