Vol. 409 No. 9

Written Answers. - Centre for Travellers.

Tomás MacGiolla

Ceist:

143 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the junior training centre in St. Oliver's Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, which is an essential part of the education of the children of travellers between the ages of 12 and 15, is being demolished under the present redevelopment plan and is not being replaced by the Minister for the Environment, who states that his responsibility extends only to providing accommodation for travellers; and if she intends to ensure that funds are provided for building a training centre during the course of the redevelopment plan.

I am aware of the situation in relation to the junior training centre for travellers at St. Oliver's Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22. The question of the provision to be made in future for such pupils is under active consideration in my Department.
