Vol. 409 No. 9

Written Answers. - Cataract Operation.

Phil Hogan

Ceist:

117 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will be called for a cataract operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that the person referred to by the Deputy was seen at an out-patient clinic on 16 November 1990.

I do not consider it appropriate for me to comment on the clinical details of an individual patient. The decision with regard to when a patient will have his/her operation performed is a matter for the consultant concerned and the Deputy will appreciate that it is not a matter in which I have any involvement. If this person's condition has deteriorated, she should contact her general practitioner, who would be in the best position to take up the matter with her consultant.
