Ceist:224 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education if she will arrange immediate payment of a grant in respect of an urgent extension to a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.
Written Answers. - Kilkenny School Extension.
The position is that work proceeded on the extension of the school in question without any prior written approval for grant purposes from my Department. In view of the many demands on the scarce resources available and the need to allocate funds in an orderly way, I regret that it would not be possible to approve a retrospective grant in this case.
