Vol. 411 No. 7

Written Answers. - Football Association Funding.

Andrew Boylan

Ceist:

32 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education if she will consider an allocation of money towards the national ladies gaelic football association who would then divide their allocation between the counties where ladies football is played; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Under my Department's scheme of assistance to sport, annual grants are paid to national governing bodies of sport to assist in the areas of coaching, administration, equipment and special projects designed to increase participation and improve standards. The ladies gaelic football association is in receipt of an annual grant under this scheme. The grant in 1991 is £7,500.
