I intend taking Questions Nos. 20, 53, 77 and 94 together.

Since the latter part of 1990, responsibility for the rationalisation of facilities at primary and post primary level has rested with a planning section within a unified planning and building unit in my Department which deals with all aspects of planning and building at all levels.

This reflects the central role of planning in the provision of accommodation in the light of demographic and other changes and the need to make the best use of the limited resources available.
