59 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if he will outline his proposals for the implementation of commitments under the Programme for Economic and Social Progress for the provision of caretakers in national schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Proposals in regard to commitments in the Programme for Economic and Social Progress relating to the provision of caretakers and clerical assistants in national schools are currently being formulated in my Department.
