Written Answers. - Maintenance of Military Residential Quarters.

Ceist:

126 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence the extent to which residential quarters in the various military establishments throughout the country receive maintenance; if a schedule of repairs and/or maintenance has been drawn up; the degree to which these works are likely to progress in the coming year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The repair and maintenance of living accommodation at all military barracks and posts are carried out as may be required by the Army Corps of Engineers or by contract. Army engineers are responsible for the inspection and maintenance of such accommodation.

Maintenance works in 1992 will continue to be carried out in pursuance of this policy and as financial resources permit.
