133 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if he will outline in respect of his Department (1) the number of Government contracts which are in force, (2) whether all contracts are renewed each year and (3) if all contracts are granted as a result of tendering to the most competitive estimate.
There are 16 contracts of an on-going kind at present in force in the Department of Tourism, Transport and Communications. A total of 15 of these contracts are renewed annually; the sixteenth is a contract for a period longer than one year.
All contracts are placed with the lowest, most suitable tenderer in accordance with Government contracts procedures.
