Vol. 414 No. 1

Written Answers. - FCA Training Camps.

Madeleine Taylor-Quinn

Ceist:

28 Mrs. Taylor-Quinn asked the Minister for Defence (a) the reason there was a reduction in the use of the FCA summer training camp in Lahinch, County Clare this year and (b) if he will give an assurance that the Lahinch facility will be used to full capacity for the summer of 1992; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In the training of FCA personnel there has been an increased emphasis in recent years on giving the fullest possible training during summer camps. Accordingly, it is desirable that the camps should be held at locations which have the best training facilities. Because of the wider range of such facilities available at other locations, there has been a reduction in the past few years in the number of FCA personnel attending summer camps at Lahinch.
