Ceist:

80 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will outline in respect of his Department (1) the number of Government contracts which are in force, (2) whether all contracts are renewed each year and (3) if all contracts are granted as a result of tendering to the most competitive estimate.

At present, my Department have 39 contracts in force. While the terms and conditions of the contracts differ, the majority are renewed on an annual basis.

All contracts are awarded in accordance with the Department of Finance Government contract procedures on the basis of the lowest suitable tender.
