94 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received any applications from local authorities seeking permission to charge more than the normal planning application fee for retention applications; and if he will change the regulations to allow for a higher charge for retention applications than for planning applications.

Some planning authorities have suggested, in the context of the review of planning regulations which is in progress in my Department, that fees for retention applications should be higher than for other planning applications. The matter is being considered.
