Ceist:

31 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Finance when he expects the relationship between An Post and the National Debt Management Agency will be put on a more commercial basis in respect of the operation, by An Post, of the Post Office Savings Bank Fund; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is intended that An Post and the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) will sign a formal contract for the operation of the Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) during 1992. Moneys received through the POSB are placed on deposit in the Post Office Savings Bank Fund, which is under the control of NTMA.
