42 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Finance the amount of overtime which was paid to (a) civil servants (b) public servants in his Department (1) to date this year and (2) last year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The following is the amount of overtime paid to civil servants in my Department in 1990 and 1991 to date: 1990, £341,509.24; 1991, £246,790.09. Part (b) of the above question is not relevant to my Department.
