Vol. 414 No. 6

Written Answers. - Environmentally Sensitive Areas Scheme.

Roger T. Garland

Ceist:

69 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the consultations which were entered into by the Department of Agriculture and Food with the Wildlife Service of the Office of Public Works, with regard to the preparation of the pilot environmentally sensitive areas scheme.

The Wildlife Service were members of the InterDepartmental Advisory Committee on Environmentally Sensitive Areas along with the Department of Agriculture and Food and the Department of the Environment. This committee agreed a report and recommendations for the Minister for Agriculture and Food in 1990. The Office of Public Works have also been consulted on the details of the draft scheme being drawn up for the pilot areas by the Minister for Agriculture and Food.
