Ceist:148 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Environment when funding will be made available for an adequate sewage treatment scheme for Cork city, given continuing public concern over the state of the River Lee.

Cork Corporation appointed consultants in 1991 to develop proposals for sewage treatment facilities for the city. As planning and design of the scheme are at a preliminary stage, the question of funding does not arise at this stage.
