Ceist:

178 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the progress, if any, made in the provision of a school for deaf children at Ballymahon, County Longford; when enrolment is expected to commence; if he will give details of the expected number of pupils; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Arrangements are well advanced for the provision of an extra classroom at Ballymahon convent national school to serve as a special unit for children with hearing impairments.

Present indications are that five/six pupils will enrol initially.
