Ceist:21 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Justice if he will give details of the number of search warrants that were refused by the courts in 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Records are not maintained either in court offices or in Garda headquarters in such a way as to enable the information sought in the question to be provided readily.
However, I have asked the Garda authorities to inquire whether the information sought can be compiled without undue diversion of scarce Garda resources to the task. If it can, I will communicate it to the Deputy as soon as I receive it.
