Ceist:

33 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice when he proposes to introduce legislation to amend the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1986, to enable thousands of people who applied for citizenship in 1986 to complete the procedure and avail of Irish citizenship; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As I have informed the House on previous occasions, I could not undertake, by way of response to a parliamentary question, to disclose what particular legislative proposals I may have. Any such proposals will, in the normal way, be brought before the Government, and, if approved, will be announced in the usual manner.
