97 Mr. G. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the reason the Polefield in Blackpool, County Cork, was excluded from consideration for tendering for the new CSO offices which are to be decentralised to Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
A number of properties were inspected by the Office of Public Works in connection with the proposed decentralisation of the CSO to Cork city. A number of sites were put forward by Cork Corporation for this development and all of them were considered and examined. The site at Blackpool was subsequently ruled out as it was understood it was intended for other development purposes.
