Ceist:113 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the extent to which insurance cover is and will be available for motor cycle passengers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Pillion Passenger Insurance.
In accordance with Council Directive 90/232/EEC, insurance of pillion passengers will become compulsory from 31 December 1998. In the meantime, I understand that pillion passenger insurance is not available from the principal insurer of motor cycles.
