Ceist:

140 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Labour if he will provide, (a) the titles of all labour legislation introduced to date, (b) any legislation currently being drafted, (c) his Department's plans for future legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In regard to (a), the titles of primary legislation administered by my Department are:

In regard to (b) the proposed legislation currently being drafted by my Department is:
Bill to amend the Unfair Dismissals Act, 1977, a Bill which proposes to create an entitlement to leave from employment for adoptive mothers.
In regard to (c), reviews being carried out by my Department which may lead to legislative proposals in the following areas are:
Amendment of current equality legislation,
Employment Agency Act, 1971,
Protection of Employment Act, 1977.
Conditions of Employment Acts, 1936 and 1944,
Night Work (Bakeries) Acts, 1936 and 1981,
Shops (Conditions of Employment) Acts, 1938 and 1942,
Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act, 1973, (arising from an EC Directive on Contract of Employment Relationship),
Employment Status of Agency Workers, and, Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973.
