A once-off capital grant of £22,954 was made in 1991 to the Youth Service Workshop, Ennis, to enable it to purchase appropriate equipment to assist in the development of programmes for youth at risk or who are referred for supervision to the Probation and Welfare Service from the courts.
My Department has made £55,000 available to the Ronanstown and Killinarden youth projects in 1991. The Garda probation and welfare service, Foróige and the Catholic Youth Council assist in the running of these projects. They provide support for youth activities as well as a programme of sporting and social events which carry an anti-crime message.
My Department also made a payment of £12,000 to the Irish Association for Victim Support in 1991.
Special provision is being made in 1992 for payment of £40,000 to Free Legal Advice Centres (FLAC).
