Michael Noonan
Ceist:43 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Finance whether arising from his decision to replace excise duty on motor vehicles with a first time registration fee, he has yet decided, (a) the category of civil servants that will carry out this work and (b) the number of persons that will be required; if he intends organising the first time registration fee from a central office or if the work will be carried out by motor taxation offices throughout the country, if he sees any role for those customs and excise officers surplus to requirement after January, 1993 in the conduct of this work; and when he expects to have a system designed and put in place to carry out this work.
