Vol. 417 No. 3

Written Answers. - Saggart-Rathcoole (Dublin) Link Road.

Mervyn Taylor

Ceist:

78 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the present status of a plan by Dublin County Council to construct a link road between Saggart and Rathcoole with the provision of playing fields adjoining same; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The tentative list of major improvement projects on national primary roads planned to commence and/or be completed in the period 1989 to 1993 under the Operational Programme on Peripherality includes interchanges on the existing N7 Naas Road at Kill, Johnstown and Rathcoole. It was envisaged that the link road referred to, between Saggart and Rathcoole, would be an integral part of the proposed Rathcoole interchange. The development of detailed proposals for the interchange is a matter, in the first instance, for Dublin County Council. The local autority's proposals have not yet been received in my Department.
