Written Answers. - Naas (Kildare) School Facilities.

Ceist:

133 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the precise extent of the extra facilities necessary at Scoil Iognáid Rís, Naas, County Kildare; if he will further outline his proposals in regard to a reasonable timescale for the provision of these, having regard to demographic trends; if he intends to meet these requirements in time for the 1993 school year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The provision of accommodation to provide geography, science, woodwork/building construction, social studies and mechanical drawing facilities has been in planning for this school.

My Department is examining how this project should now proceed in the context of many other commitments facing the Department and the levels of funding available for capital projects. As such it is not possible to outline an exact timescale for this project.
