Vol. 417 No. 7

Written Answers. - Sale of Cork Hospital.

Gerry O'Sullivan

Ceist:

41 Mr. G. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the progress made in the disposal of Our Lady's Hospital in Cork and the interest which has been shown by various interests; if it has been offered to any other body; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware that a building known as the Grey Building at Our Lady's Hospital, Cork, is now vacant.

I have been informed by the Southern Health Board that it has notified the local authority, local State agencies and other interested parties of the availability of the building for sale.

The board has also arrangements in place to facilitate the inspection of the property by any interested parties. Discussions are also ongoing with prospective purchasers of the property. The board has assured me that every effort will be made to maximise the commercial potential of this building at the time of sale.
