Vol. 417 No. 7
43 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Health whether he has any plans to establish a national vaccination programme against Hepatitis B along the lines recommended by the World Health Organisation.
Vaccination against Hepatitis B is currently provided to health service employees under a programme introduced by the Department of Health in 1988.
There are no plans at present to introduce a national vaccination programme against the disease as the presence of Hepatitis B in Ireland and in most other northern European countries is small. I am keeping the matter under review.
