Ceist:119 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to meet with the Voluntary Health Insurance or the medical organisations to discuss the extension of the full cover scheme operated by the VHI.

I have no plans to meet with the VHI or the medical organisations to discuss the VHI full cover scheme. The question of participation in the scheme is a matter between the VHI and the medical consultants concerned. I am however aware of the desirability of achieving agreement on such a scheme and I would hope that progress can continue to be made in achieving this.
